Immersed in the countryside between Verona, Vicenza and Padova, Villa Fracanzan Piovene is a jewel of 18th-century architecture. Surrounded by a large Italian garden and one of the largest parks in the Veneto region, it offers breathtaking views. Its strategic location makes it easily accessible from every part of the region.
All the interiors of the Villa are perfectly furnished and reflect the lifestyles of past centuries. On the ground floor, the Villa is arranged around the Hall of Columns which faces the billiard room, the sala del plebiscito containing historical commemorative memorabilia, and the dining room with period dishes and services. The famous kitchen, featuring an impressive collection of utensils and copperware, is known for the 16th-century red marble sink designed by the Veronese Farinati, which, according to tradition, Napoleon wished to remove to the Louvre. On the first floor are the large ballroom, the ceramics room, the canopied bedrooms, the Napoleonic room, the bathrooms and the large old ironing room.
The history of Villa Fracanzan Piovene
At the beginning of the 1700s, the Fracanzan family, which had become one of the most important families in Vicenza, commissioned architect Francesco Muttoni from Lugano to design the villa and garden to consolidate their image. The monumental Baroque structure conceived by Muttoni, a great scholar of Palladio and follower of Borromini, is rare in Veneto for its appearance and size.
Park and garden
Villa Fracanzan Piovene is surrounded by one of the largest landscape parks in Veneto. There is also an Italian garden and a flower garden.
