The story of Villa Fenicia is closely intertwined with the family from which it derives its name.

Built in the 1600s as a fortified ‘masseria’ – a farmhouse and agricultural centre with over 3,000 hectares of olive groves – the Villa was donated to Giulio Cesare Fenicia, an archaeologist who became the Governor of Ruvo.

It was in 1870 that the ‘masseria’ was transformed into the regal Villa standing today, thanks to the expert and dedicated restoration work carried out by Antonio Fenicia. This historical residence now represents one of the most picturesque jewels of the Bari area.

The centuries-old park, filled with Mediterranean flora, envelops the vineyards and olive groves of the family-owned agricultural estate surrounding the Villa.

The scents coming from the palm trees, citrus fruits, pine trees, sea air and the Murgia plateau all mingle with the perfumes in the rose garden by the ancient well and in the many enchanted nooks and crannies of the park, where guests staying at the residence have the opportunity to experience the unspoiled harmony of the Apulia region.

Villa fenicia – between the Murgia and the Adriatic sea
Villa Fenicia is further embellished by the natural beauty all around it, offering visitors a vast panorama of the ancient olive groves stretching between the Murgia region and the sea. Guests at the residence can choose to explore the surrounding areas, relax in the park or by the swimming pool, and savour delicious ethno-botanical dishes prepared by the Montaruli brothers (better known as Mezza Pagnotta), or wine and olive oil tastings offered by the family-owned agricultural estate, experiencing what can only be called a perfect stay in true Puglia style.
