The Berroni Estate was built in 1773 as a country summer residence for nobleman De Laugier. Endowed with a beautiful park, a chapel and several rural outbuildings, the Villa stood in splendid isolation in the countryside and was entirely self-sufficient.
The interior of the Villa features exquisite decorations and antique furnishings, commissioned from many artists who worked for the  Castle of Racconigi. Today, Countess di Castelbarco Visconti personally guides visitors through the many elegant rooms of the Villa: the Red Room, the Dining Room, the Gallery, Carlo Alberto’s Room, the Blue Room, and the Wardrobe Room.
Visiting Villa Berroni
At the Villa, which has a typically French-inspired architectural design, visitors are welcomed and guided along a series of splendid galleries, rediscovering all the flavours of bygone times. The atmosphere is magical. It feels like stepping back in time, as if the former inhabitants have just gone out for a walk, leaving their belongings behind in each room: the table is set for an elegant dinner, the bedrooms still have period clothing on display and their owners’ belongings are scattered about in charming disorder. The two-storey Hall of Honour, designed by Borra with stuccos from Como and Lugano, is particularly magnificent and greets visitors at the start of the visit.
The park
The Park owes its current layout to a number of successive redevelopments that have been carried out on the entire estate since the early 19th century, when illustrious court landscaper Giacomo Pregliasco was commissioned with the project of redesigning it in the romantic style in 1819. He conferred upon the entire grounds an understated charm that can still be appreciated today during leisurely walks along the banks of the small lake, under the shelter of the foliage of tall centuries-old trees.
Many interesting species populate the paths and meadows and the seasonal mass blooming of wild daffodils, fragrant violets and primroses is just stunning. May brings lily-of-the-valley and a beautiful collection of herbaceous peonies, while later in the season rare tree peonies come into bloom. There is also a vast array of old English roses that, thanks to the passion of the Tenuta’s hostess, continue to increase year on year and intoxicate every corner of the gardens with their intense fragrance.

Staying at tenuta Berroni
In addition to the four surrounding farmhouses, the San Giorgio courtyard was also constructed within the architectural complex of the Estate, originally housing the stables and used for carriage storage and as living quarters for the coachman. Renowned architect Carlo Ceppi modernised this entire space, rendering the grooms’ quarters more attractive. The current owner has tastefully renovated the living area, transforming it into accommodation for small family groups, with special emphasis paid to ensuring those staying have full privacy, peace and tranquillity.
There are two apartments, each about 90 square metres in size, consisting of a spacious living room with a kitchenette, a bedroom with a panoramic view and a large bathroom. Guests share a private garden with parking facilities, a ground-floor entrance, a staircase and a corridor. Certain modifications were restricted in this listed building, due to constraints of the Italian Superintendency for Architectural Heritage.
Manager: Countess Alessandra di Castelbarco
